Missed you all last week! Wasn't it wonderful to get some decent weather over the weekend? My kids did not want to spend any time inside. We biked, scootered, and played some street hockey too!
I just need to make a final comment about the Structure and Forces projects. Students worked so hard and had a chance to showcase their work again last week before taking projects home. You should be proud of your efforts people. Well done!
Week at a glance:
Science
Last week we wrapped up our discussion on plate tectonics and mountain formations. This week we are going to discuss the importance of fossils, and what the fossil record tells us about Earth’s history. If any of the students have fossils they wish to share with the class, they are more than welcome to do so. Just an advance reminder that the second unit test is on April 19th. A study guide can be accessed here.
Math
Aren’t integers just so much fun? What is an integer? And why is it when you subtract two integers, is it kind of like adding them? In Math we’ve been exploring integer operations and how we can apply them to the real world like a hockey game, a bank statement and temperature gauges. This week we’ll wrap up our unit on adding and subtracting integers with a quiz on April 15th. A study guide can be accessed here.
Have a great week!
David and Mike
