Greetings Everyone!
I hope students enjoyed a restful and relaxing extra-long weekend. Unfortunately, I will be waiting until this weekend for my rest and relaxation. We travelled to Wetaskiwin, played hockey, attended an 80th birthday, and completed report cards! Zoom, zoom!
Report Card Note:
Students will be presented with Report Cards at the end of the day Friday this week. I have spoken to all of my students about this last term. At this point students marks are based on a couple of summative activities in Math and three summative activities in Science. This might mean that your son or daughter's mark is higher than usual or lower than usual. Others will find their marks right around where they were last year. I have encouraged students to discuss their report card marks and set some goals for term two. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the school or via email.
Math: This week we will be wrapping up our Travel Agent activities. Students will present their proposals to their classmates and teacher on Wednesday this week. We will also look at beginning a new unit in Math, most likely Geometry.
Science: Students will be working on the final section of our Ecosystems and Interactions unit this week. They will have a choice of a variety of activities to show their learning. Activities will be due at the end of the week. See attachment for further details. We will review Monday of next week and students will write their unit exam Tuesday, November 22nd.
Hope everyone has a great week!
David
