The Week of November 22nd-24th

Hello Gators!

I spent the weekend coaching my oldest at hockey and then celebrating his birthday party on Sunday. We had a great time skating and eating cake and pizza. It is hard to imagine that Braigh is six years old, it seems like he has been with us forever! Another lesson that I am reminded of is to enjoy the time you have with your children, it goes by so fast.

We have a short but busy week! Students will be attending a matinee performance of the dance production; "Neon City" on Wednesay, and there will be no school for students Thursday and Friday this week. Lakie staff will engage in Professional learning over those two days.

Week at a glance:

Math: In Math last week be began our Measurement and Geometry unit with a discussion about Perimeter. We are also continuing to work through the presentations of our Travel Agent projects. To this point I has really been impressed with the effort and detail students showed on their presentations.

Science: We will be closing out our Interactions and Ecosystems unit this week. We will test students knowledge and background Tuesday, November 23rd. Students began preparing in class last Friday and will continue to review Monday. Students will be required to show their understanding of all material covered to date in Science. Although there will be specific attention to the following: Study Guide Students have been encouraged to sign out a textbook if they wish to use it to prepare, and to use their previous study guides from 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 in addition to the assignment that was completed for 4.0. Students may also go to edquest.ca to review notes from Interactions and Ecosystems. Best of luck tomorrow!

Have a great week and enjoy the looooong weekend students!
David
