The Week of October 25th-29th

Happy Halloween Everyone!

It was fantastic to see so many of you at Parent-Teacher Interviews last week! Thank you for making the time to come and see us to discuss your child's progress and growth this year. If we continue to work together, we can help ensure success for everyone.

Over the weekend, it was nice to relax a little bit. I am still in awe about how busy things are at G.S. Lakie! There always seems to be something going on around here. Speaking of that, if you haven't seen "The Rock Show", I highly recommend it. There were over 125 kids involved in pulling this amazing production off. Contact the school for ticket information.

Week at a glance:

Math: we will be closing out our unit on Decimal Operations this week. Students will spend Monday and Tuesday working on their division skills related to Decimals. Wednesday, and Thursday will be review days at school. Students will show their understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals this Friday, October 29th on their unit tests. The textbook can be accessed here: MathLinks Students have been advised that I am available during Nutrition breaks #1 and #2 Monday -Wednesday for additional support on Math concepts.
Next week we will devote time to our "Travel Agent" projects as another form of assessment for this unit.

Science: Presentation week! We will be presenting our Animal projects throughout the week. 7F will complete their 2.0 unit quiz this Friday as well. Textbooks are available for sign out throughout the week if needed. We will also continue to discuss changes in ecosystems that occur naturally and as a result of human interactions.

Have a fantastic week!

David
